Handling

The fish and shellfish for our auctions come by boat or truck. When it arrives in the morning, we check the quality and make a classification before the auction. If necessary, we fill it with ice.

Before the auction, the boxes of fish are put in order by the supplier, the boat. During the ongoing auction, each buyer receives an individual note that is placed on the exact box that was purchased. This note contains all information about the fish and who delivered it.

When the auction is over, the job of sorting out the sold fish to the right buyer starts. Every pallet delivered from us is filled with ice and we wrap the pallet for stability and insulation so that the air flow from the car’s cooling system doesn’t melt the ice.
Crayfish exported from Smögen are dipped in a sustainability bath to cope with transport to Europe.
